Wave Photography by Luke Shadbolt

As an islander living in the middle of the Atlantic we’re used to massive waves and it’s something it’s actually quiet-peaceful, even on stormy days. So it’s always a pleasure to see impressive portraits of gigantic wave splashes by the Australian Luke Shadbolt capturing some beautiful personalities of this natural phenomenon. The pictures are a selection of several of his series available on his website where you’ll find also other kinds of photography work. You may also follow him on Instagram.

Luke Shadbolt is a photographic artist and creative director from Sydney, Australia. A consuming passion for the ocean gave him the privilege of spending his formative years traveling between remote natural areas and densely populated environments, affording him an empathetic insight into the interconnectedness of the world we inhabit. His sculptural, abstract photography examines the duality of nature, language, and sense of place with a specific focus on the oceans. Exploring the exchange, cycle, and balance of power fundamental to the functioning of our planet, Shadbolt aims to renew awareness and appreciation of the environment.
