The sun captured by Alan Friedman
These are beautiful captures of the sun using a telescope, a camera and high-end filters by Alan Friedman. “At night I pursue a passion for astronomy. My observatory, located in a downtown Buffalo backyard amidst street lights and the turbulent winds of the jet stream, is far from ideally located. But it’s close to home and astronomy equipment is heavy so l’ve tried to make the most of it. You will find this site devoted primarily to high resolution views of bright objects – the moon and sun, planets and bright stars – targets that show themselves as well from the city as from dark rural skies.” There’s more at his website or you can follow him at Tumblr.
